How is the Disclosure Score calculated?

We check five things on each retailer's own website: whether product pages name the material (like silicone or ABS), whether there's a clear discreet-shipping policy, whether the billing descriptor is published anywhere on the site, whether the return policy is public (including any exceptions for intimate items), and whether a privacy policy exists and explains what data is collected. Each item scores full credit if clearly disclosed, half credit if partially disclosed, and zero if we couldn't find it. The five scores add up to a 0–100 number. We did not test products, place orders, or contact any brand — every data point traces back to a public page you can open yourself, linked in the table below.

Why isn't this a "best sex toy store" ranking?

Because disclosure and quality are different questions. A store can be completely transparent about its billing name and still sell products you don't like, or vice versa. This page only answers one narrow question: did the store tell you, in writing, on its own site, the things that matter most before you hand over a card number and a home address? We deliberately don't rate materials quality, customer service, shipping speed, or product selection — that's outside what a public-disclosure check can responsibly claim to measure.

What's the most common thing stores don't disclose?

One more store only describes it in vague terms like "discreet billing" without naming the actual descriptor. Shipping discretion is disclosed universally — every store we checked has a page describing plain packaging. Return policies are close behind billing as a gap: 5 stores don't publish their return terms at all, and 3 more only partially explain the exceptions for intimate or defective items.

Does a high score mean a store is trustworthy?

Not by itself. A high Disclosure Score means a store is willing to put specifics in writing where you can check them — that's one meaningful signal, but it's not the whole picture. Read the actual policy pages we link to, not just our summary. If something in a policy seems vague or contradicts itself (we flag any contradictions we found), that's worth noticing regardless of the overall number.
